WHAT IS TOPIK?

This examination aims to set a right Korean Language learning path for overseas Koreans and foreigners who do not speak Korean as their mother tongue and promote the use of Korean language. The result of evaluation can also be used for local university applications as well as employment purpose.

PURPOSE OF TEST
A guiding direction for Korean study and to spread the Korean language to ethnic Korean overseas and non-native Korean speakers To be able to use TOPIK result to apply for local university and to get a job

Eligibility criteria
Overseas Koreans and foreigners who do not speak Korean as their mother tongue
Ethnic Korean overseas and non-native Korean speakers for whom Korean is a second or foreign language. A wisher who wants to study in Korea A Job seeker who wants to get into Korea company in Korea or overseas Ethnic Korean overseas

Validity
For two years from the date of issue of the result

Level and grade of examination
Level of examination: TOPIK I, TOPIK II
Evaluation grade: 6 grades(1st to 6th grades)
The evaluation is based on the total scores earned, and the cut-off scores by grade is as follows:

※ Based on the difficulty level before the 35th examination, TOPIK I is the basic level and TOPIK II is intermediate/advanced level.

>> University admission and academic management of foreign Korean Government Scholars.
>> Local university admission for foreigners and overseas Koreans who have completed 12 years of education abroad.
>> Obtaining working visa for those who want to be employed at Korean companies, and serving as a standard for selecting and managing the employees
>> Recognizing domestic practitioner license for foreigners with medical doctor qualification
>> Application for Korean Language Teaching Qualification test (level 2 and 3) and acquisition of certificate.
>> Acquisition of permanent residency right >> Application for the issuance of marriage-based immigrant visa

※ Items required for application: Photo, English name, date of birth, examination venue, level of examination, etc

How to check the examination results
Log on to the website(www.topik.go.kr) to check the results and status of sent score report.
※ Number of times of examination, candidate seat number, and date of birth are needed to check the examination results at the website.
※ Overseas candidates can check the examination results at the website(www.topik.go.kr).

How to be issued the score report
※ Receipt by mail
Score report can be issued online by using the score report issuance menu at TOPIK website(printable on the day of results announcement)
※ Issuance through the internet
※ Receipt by mail The score report will be sent three(3) days after the examination results announcement for Korean candidates. The receipt is not guaranteed because the score report is sent via ordinary mail. Score report which is returned or has incorrect address will not be resent(receivable by visit within 3 months)
