G3 Semester 2 Field Trip NEW

On 29 September 2026, G3 students went on a field trip to CANCHITA and Lemuel Chocolate. We were warmly welcomed by Ms Aini at CANCHITA, and extrememly grateful to be allowed to visit the restaurant to observe the cacao trees planted in their backyard by Ms Janice Wong, an award-winning local chef and chocolatier. After close observation of the cacao trees, the students started work on their sketch of the trees in the comfort of the restaurant. We headed off to Lemuel Chocolate after the completion of our sketches and had a hands-on experience of the “Bean to Bar” process of making chocolate. We were also able to see for ourselves some of the machinery used to manufacture chocolate, which helped us gain a better understanding of the entire process. The fun part was when we got to decorate our own chocolate bars with various delicious toppings! Our students were tired after a long day but we definitely had a great learning experience.

2026학년도 2학기 장애이해주간 행사 NEW

본교 초등과정에서는 2026학년도 2학기 장애이해주간(2026.9.14.~9.18.)을 맞아 패럴림픽 종목 중 하나인 보치아를 재미있게 변형한 “참치 보치아 게임”​을 진행하였습니다. 학생들은 활동을 통해 모두가 함께 참여하고 즐길 수 있는 스포츠의 의미를 생각해 보며, 진정한 평등과 배려의 가치에 대해 알아보는 시간을 가졌습니다. 또한 “휠체어를 이용하는 친구와 함께 안전하고 즐겁게 공부할 수 있는 SKIS”​의 모습을 상상하여 그림으로 표현하고, 이를 활용해 자신만의 키링을 만들어 보았습니다. 이번 장애이해주간 활동을 통해 학생들이 서로의 다름을 이해하고 존중하며, 모두가 함께 행복한 학교를 만들어 가는 마음을 기를 수 있었습니다.

진로명사특강 김창원 대표님

2026년 9월 17일, Acadian Asset Management Singapore의 Ryan Kim(김창원) Business Development Director를 초청하여 희망 학생들을 대상으로 금융 및 투자 분야 특강을 진행하였습니다. 학생들은 환율, 저축, 보험 등 일상생활과 밀접한 금융 개념을 이해하고, 은행·보험·증권·자산운용 등 금융산업의 역할과 자금의 흐름을 살펴보았습니다. 또한 AI 시대의 금융산업 변화와 금융 분야를 희망하는 학생들이 갖추어야 할 역량 및 진로 준비 방향에 대해 알아보는 시간을 가졌습니다.On September 17, 2026, Ryan Kim, Business Development Director, North Asia at Acadian Asset Management Singapore, delivered a special lecture on finance and investment for interested students. Students explored financial concepts closely related to everyday life, including foreign exchange, savings, and insurance, while gaining an understanding of the roles of banks, insurance companies, securities firms, and asset management companies and the flow of money within the financial system. They also learned about the changes AI is bringing to the financial industry and reflected on the skills and preparation needed for students interested in pursuing careers in finance.

School Exchange Programme with Punggol Primary School

On 16th September, our G3 students had a meaningful morning with students from Punggol Primary School as part of the school's Exchange Programme. It was our turn to be host to Punggol Primary School, and we prepared a myriad of activities for our Punggol friends. We started off with learning about Korean traditional rice cakes and we had a great hands-on experience of preparing them. The best part of this for many of the students was eating the rice cakes! Our students then had the opportunity to share with our Punggol friends a bit of our Korean culture through playing traditional games like Ddakji and Yut Nori. Through this interaction, students were able to build stronger bonds with one another. The students from Punggol Primary School were also able to get a taste of doing taekwondo and students had great fun practising some basic skills together. All in all, this exchange was a tremendously fulfilling experience for all the students involved. We learnt a bit more about each other's cultures, and also, although we are different in many ways, we share many similarities in our cultures too!

2026학년도 2학기 초등 전교어린이회 임원선거 실시 및 임명장 수여

싱가포르한국국제학교(SKIS) 초등부는 지난 8월 28일(금) 강당에서 2026학년도 2학기 전교어린이회 임원선거를 실시하였습니다.🗳️ 후보 학생들은 8월 27일(목) 하루 동안 캔틴, 교실, 복도 등 교내 곳곳에서 직접 선거 운동을 펼치며 자신의 공약과 포부를 친구들에게 열정적으로 알렸습니다. 이튿날인 28일에는 강당에서 합동 소견 발표회가 열려 각 후보가 단상에 올라 진지하게 소견을 발표하였고, 이를 경청한 3~6학년 전교생이 직접 기표소에서 소중한 한 표를 행사하였습니다.✅ 선거 결과, 다음과 같이 당선자가 확정되었습니다.🎉 전교회장 : 6학년 강OO전교부회장 : 6학년 최OO, 5학년 김OO, 5학년 이OO당선자들에게는 유삼목 교장선생님께서 임명장을 직접 수여해 주셨으며, 임명장 수여에 이어 교장선생님과 전교어린이회 임원들 간의 간담회도 바로 진행되었습니다. 간담회에서 임원들은 선거 기간 동안 약속한 공약과 2학기 동안 펼쳐나갈 포부를 교장선생님께 직접 말씀드리며 학생 자치 활동에 대한 의지를 다지는 뜻깊은 자리가 되었습니다. 💪 현재 임원들은 약속한 공약 실천을 위해 부지런히 노력하고 있습니다. 이번 선거는 후보 등록, 선거 운동, 소견 발표, 투표, 개표에 이르기까지 실제 민주주의 선거 절차에 따라 진행되었으며, 학생들이 민주 시민으로서의 자질과 소양을 직접 몸으로 익히는 뜻깊은 시간이 되었습니다. 당선된 임원 여러분의 활약을 기대하며, SKIS 초등부는 앞으로도 학생 자치활동이 활발히 이루어질 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠습니다.🌟

School Exchange Program with West Grove Primary School

School Exchange Program with West Grove Primary School On the 26th August, our G4 students participated in an enriching School Exchange Program with West Grove Primary School. During the program, students engaged in a wide variety of cultural exchange and bonding activities designed to foster mutual understanding and friendship. Through hands-on experiences, collaborative games, and meaningful interactions, they had the opportunity to learn about different cultural traditions and share their own unique backgrounds. This exchange allowed the G4 students to build lasting global friendships, develop a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity, and expand their perspectives beyond the classroom.

Elementary Student Council Donates to Local Charity

This semester, the Student Council chose to host a fundraising flea market. Thanks to everyone who donated items and came to shop during the event, we raised an impressive $919.10! This week, our four Student Council members, Roun, Sua, Hangyeol, and Yubin, visited the rescue centre of their chosen charity, ACRES. Chinese Speech Contest

From 29 June to 3 July, the Elementary School held the Chinese Speech Contest. Students confidently delivered their speeches in Chinese and showed their language skills, creativity, and enthusiasm. Throughout the competition, they demonstrated clear pronunciation, careful preparation, and growing confidence in speaking Chinese. The contest gave students a valuable opportunity to practise their spoken Chinese, gain confidence in speaking in front of others, and celebrate their learning.

NTU The Photonics Institute 진로체험활동

싱가포르한국국제학교는 7월 7일(화) NTU The Photonics Institute에서 G7~G11 희망 학생들을 대상으로 진로 체험 활동을 실시하였습니다. 학생들은 NTU 채상훈 교수님의 특강을 통해 반도체와 포토닉스 기술의 기본 개념을 배우고, 해당 기술이 첨단 산업 분야에서 어떻게 활용되는지 살펴보았습니다. 이어 대학의 반도체 연구 클린룸 시설을 직접 방문하여 반도체 제작 과정과 실제 과학·공학 연구 환경을 체험하였습니다. 이번 활동은 학생들이 물리학, 전자공학, 재료공학, 화학 등 관련 전공과 직업 세계에 대한 이해를 넓히고, 미래 과학기술 분야에 대한 진로 탐색의 기회를 갖는 유익한 시간이 되었습니다.

Kindergarten Field Trip: Singapore Zoo

Kindergarten Field Trip: Singapore Zoo On the 1st July, the kindergarten students embarked on their Field Trip to the Singapore Zoo. At the Zoo, they were able to learn about the different insects and animals that live in the Fragile Forest Biodome. The students were also joined by the Zoo Facilitators who educated them on the importance of conservation as well as how to spot certain animals, as well as the animals' unique traits and how they live together in harmony in the Biodome. Through the field trip, the student were also able to identify the different animals that they have learned in their day to day lessons, and discover how at risk the different animals such as the Tree Kangaroo is on our earth.
