On 29 September 2026, G3 students went on a field trip to CANCHITA and Lemuel Chocolate. We were warmly welcomed by Ms Aini at CANCHITA, and extrememly grateful to be allowed to visit the restaurant to observe the cacao trees planted in their backyard by Ms Janice Wong, an award-winning local chef and chocolatier. After close observation of the cacao trees, the students started work on their sketch of the trees in the comfort of the restaurant.

We headed off to Lemuel Chocolate after the completion of our sketches and had a hands-on experience of the “Bean to Bar” process of making chocolate. We were also able to see for ourselves some of the machinery used to manufacture chocolate, which helped us gain a better understanding of the entire process. The fun part was when we got to decorate our own chocolate bars with various delicious toppings!

Our students were tired after a long day but we definitely had a great learning experience.
